This paper is a contribution to the efforts already initiated to reach the Nigerian women especially those at the grassroots level. It intends to have a cursory look at the socio-economic and political life of these women generally and identify the problems they encounter. It also intends to identify the possible impediments that hinder effective communication to the women preventing them from getting empowered despite the efforts made along that direction. It shall also consider the different strategies that can be used to effectively communicate to these women. It is hoped that at the end of the presentation. Effective complementary alternative means of communicating to women are provided for sustenance in the present drive to better the condition of the women.
